I post often about the project I’m involved called FEAST, based in Brooklyn. Friends in L.A. are initiating their own event—FEAST L.A. They are currently raising money via Kickstarter which will help fund their first event.

This video is RAD!!! FEAST L.A. is destined for greatness. They have already found event space at ‘an amazing downtown LA rooftop’ & set a date for July 2010. If you are an L.A. artist Call for Proposals is in full effect.

FEAST is a recurring public dinner designed to use community-driven financial support to democratically fund new and emerging art makers.

While we’re all stuck at work my friends Sarah, Jeff & Jenn are riding a train across the country to Portland, Oregon where they will be participating in a conference, Open Engagement. They have picked up more friends along the way in Chicago & Minneapolis and have made a mini train conference out of their travels—reading texts & hosting dance parties. Anyway, I am going crazy on this picture of Sarah jumping rope with two little Amish kids during a layover in Montana. Pure bliss! Take me to the mountains, please!

Visiting from LA, Family books is in NYC for Thirty Days. I’ve never been to Family, but am a collector of their artists books. Skip the trip to LA & walk a couple blocks to 70 Franklin St, Tribeca. Three things I am excited to see : 1. Store design by Paper Rad’s, Ben Jones 2. Family artist books/zines in the flesh 3. Shana Moulton & Lucky Dragons screening set on May 6. & the best part, friend/director Matt Wolf has worked on 10 video artist interviews that will be up on Thirty Day site.
The opening party is tonight! April 8, 7PM
Thirty Days NYC will be open 12-9PM, April 8 – May 6
