1988 NYC – sandwiched between Chinatown and LES lived Kim and Thurston in apartment below ‘the famous artist’ Dan Graham. Real downtown punk rock living! Railroad style. Watch it Now: Echoes of Home. Directed by Stefan Schwietert. Follow the enchanting Swiss sounds of yodeling through the Alps and through the woods. The yodelers wear towering masks, intricate and fantastic. The little old man shares his drink with the yodelers with the help of a bendy straw—sweet. When they start singing up in the mountains, it’s really strange.

I was really, really into Sonic Youth in high school. My mom threw out virtually all my high school ephemera, including Sonic Youth’s fanclub zine, Sonic Death. Breathe easy, it’s online! Though I do have a watercolor portrait of Thurston Moore I painted for 10th grade art class. Plus one.
