Margarete Heymann—Bauhaus bad girl—unhappily left the school after one year. She appealed to founder Martin Gropius for permission to study ceramics. Bauhaus/Gropius strongly encouraged women to study textiles and most did. But Heymann refused, rocking the Bauhaus boat.
