Thanks for sharing your stories of jury duty. Yeah, I am still freaked out. Going to work through it.

Take deep breathes, and get a doctors note. I really don't like violence. Terrible, terrible.

Constance, I can totally see you loving jury duty. Yeah, the one cool thing is the cross section of people. Like Matt said, the middle age women are a hoot! I love how they get along like long lost friends meeting only moments ago. Fascinating!

I want to serve on a jury so badly, but I've only been asked once and was promptly rejected. Two of my extended family members spent many years in prison, and the prosecutor worried that I would be sympathetic to the accused.

It's such an awesome responsibility to weigh the facts impartially and return a verdict, given that the decision affects so many (victim, accused, their families, and the community's trust of the system).

You're a bright and caring person and I know you'll do a great job. Best of luck!

I was a witness on a federal grand jury... get ready for a lot of earnest middle age women, a bunch of sleeping dudes, and evil federal prosecutors.

I served on a one day jury. It was a bit scary and a bit boring. Just don't be foreman because then you have to read the verdict. My heart was beating so fast when we announced our verdict. After hearing everything from both sides it was still unclear to me if the dude was guilty.
