Two of my extended family members spent many years in prison, and the prosecutor worried that I would be sympathetic to the accused. It's such an awesome responsibility to weigh the facts impartially and return a verdict, given that the decision affects so many (victim, accused, their families, and the community's trust of the system). It was a bit scary and a bit boring. Just don't be foreman because then you have to read the verdict. My heart was beating so fast when we announced our verdict.
