God’s Country
(1986) a documentary directed by Louis Malle.
Thank you to Bree Apperley for guiding me to God’s Country.
Malle follows the small town residents of Glencoe, Minnesota in 1979 with a followup visit six years later. highlights : the 28 year old farmer & his family, the softball game, the polka dancing couple, play writing Millie, the single 26 year old woman answering questions about her love life, the 31 year old bachelor who inseminates cattle for a living, every scene with the community theater.

Watch the entire movie on youtube. I did.
