Manimal is designer Kristen Lombardi—a magnificent maker of moccasins, jewelry and bags. A 2004 trip to the American Southwest inspired Kristen to start her own business — Manimal. Kristen makes Manimal goods by hand, her process is driven by a deep appreciation for the almost forgotten world of artisan crafts and craftsmanship. As guest gatherer Kristen gives us a sneak peak into her Summer 2010 collection inspiration — Summer Camp Cabin Crafts!

Words from Kristen— For Manimal’s Spring Summer 2010 collection, I am drawing inspiration from images of kids at summer camp. I fell in love with the relaxed uniforms (especially when worn with ankle socks and moccasins!), Native American themes and especially the crafted items produced in arts and craft cabins with pom poms, sticks, pipe cleaners, pine cones, construction paper and leather. May I also recommend spending some time with my favorite movie—The Parent Trap? Beautiful warm images for these cold winter days.
